These days I have learned to be more in touch with how I feel, taking time out to regularly check in with myself. The richness of life that comes from this practice really moves me like never before.
Like many people I was always thinking about what was next, what I had to get done or where I had to be. Otherwise my thoughts were in the past, thinking of what I had done or had not done and the experiences that came along with that which placed limitations on what i thought was possible. Without realizing it I was missing out on something so special, something so fulfilling and rich to the human experience that when I actually stopped and quietened my mind it was over whelming but empowering at the same time.
We all seem to keep ourselves so busy, so busy just to survive as it’s the only way we know how. What was so special that I was missing which took away that need to survive when I connected to it was something so simple, I needed no tools or 7 steps, I only had to stop.
It was the present moment, for when I stopped and connected to this moment and emptied my mind I awoken to everything that was already there. The search, the need to be, the struggle to survive, it all ended when I took a moment to stop and connect.
At first as I said it was overwhelming because I felt connected to all the stuff, the layers of crap that I’d let build up over that space which allowed me to truly be me. Having the courage to truly face each layer and keep diving deeper, choosing to instead not be driven by fear but to rather chose love. I started to only do what I love. Find more moments that filled my heart and let go of those which did not.
As I said this is no easy process as you will find it hard to let go of things you think you need, things that feed your ego and make you feel significant and special. It becomes an art of realizing what is true for you and letting go of the things that are not. The games you play with yourself that tire you and keep you busy, they all will be shredded if you truly have the courage to live your truth.
There is nothing more, nothing less then this perfect moment. Feel it.
