Some times when I wake up each day I forget to take a moment. Usually I would wake up and start running around doing my usual routine before racing out the door to work and not having taken a single moment to check in with how I was feeling that day. When I noticed how much this effected the rest of my day and the mind set which I was taking into that day I decided to do some very simple things. From doing only these simple five things each morning I noticed more productivity, creativity and importantly less stress in each day.
1. Wake Up Earlier – I started with only fifteen minutes earlier and then increased it. I now wake up two hours earlier than I use to with absolute ease. This simple step gives you more time to prepare your day and I also found I was getting to bed earlier. If you can get to bed before 10pm each night you are giving your body more time to heal and re nourish itself.
2. Meditate – Even if its for five minutes, just start to take time to quiet your thoughts and clear your head. They say that our thoughts are filled with 90% of the thoughts from yesterday. Taking time to clear your head will allow for space and further creativity to flow into all areas of your life. If you’re looking for answers and ways to improve your circumstances then this is very important.
3. Drink Water – As soon as you wake have a full glass of water. This will get the bodies digestion moving and replenishes you after a long night of work that your bodies been doing whilst you sleep. If you can add a slice of lemon this will also help alkaline you’re blood.
4. Appreciate – The moment I wake up I start to list the things I appreciate and am grateful for in my life. You may start with the simplest of things such as being grateful for the bed you slept in or appreciating the clothes you are able to dress yourself in. Start this list even if its small, it will grow and you will start to feel a lot of joy and happiness for things we sometimes take for granted.
5. Exercise – Morning exercise is amazing! It doesn’t have to be in the gym, it can be a short walk around the block or just some stretches in the living room. I have found an incredible gym called Origin Of Energy which after years of personal trainers, gyms and different fitness ideas I can say is the best by far when it comes to achieving peak fitness and a understanding of your own health and well being.
Enjoy your day!
