Finding Me

The past couple of months have been interesting for me. I have been creating some massive changes in my life, obviously reflecting some big shifts going on within me. It’s been interesting because, as I observe what’s been happening in my story, I have really had to put into practice presence. Without being present, I notice how quickly I lose myself to my thoughts, my emotions, and my story.

When a feeling comes up, I noticed how quickly I (the small Jamie, aka ego) like to place it somewhere in my story. This way, it gives my reality significance and makes it real. When I remember the truth and come back to my true self, that feeling is just energy. When it turns into emotion, it’s for me to embrace with my whole being. By allowing my true self to become one with the emotion, I am able to reclaim power and not place part of myself in the story. I become one with what I am experiencing in the moment. This allows me to experience my limitless self.

This is what truth is for me. This is why I see how different what I talk about is. The truth has no label and cannot be spoken about in process or tools. You are, then, only reinforcing the finite experience. Your true power becomes limited. This is when you believe you are your body. You are your circumstances.

My limitless self is here in everything. It cannot be limited by even the experience I am having. That experience is just a reflection of the energy, which is me. If I can’t own that, then I’m not seeing who I truly am: the one that is all things.

Do you lose yourself to your stories? Next time you notice this happening, why not try just being with what you are experiencing and placing your awareness on the feeling within you?

Enjoy the ride as you find your true self. I’ll be there with you in that one moment! 😉

Beautiful post Jamie. Our stories from the past and future can have an enormous power in our lives, if we allow them to take control. It is a constant battle to be your true self but the rewards are massive. As a young widow and someone with Multiple Sclerosis I am savouring each emotion and discovering the many lessons I can learn. Melissa

I’m not really sure I understand what you mean by a story? And placing yourself in a story? Sorry if I’m being really dumb…
